Dolly 0.4.19

  • A Free plan: unlimited recording and the full editor, 1080p export with a small "Made with Dolly" mark, up to 10 active Dolly links.

Dolly 0.4.17

  • Permissions are checked accurately: no more "Allow Dolly again" at every launch, and a permission that works is never reset.
  • A new opening animation in the editor, and realistic iPhone and iPad frames (Background › More › Frame). Recording from an iPhone or iPad is still coming soon.
  • Dolly now lives at getdolly.app, with links on link.getdolly.app. Plus fixes: the teleprompter shows a script without pressing Done, Home idles at a fraction of the CPU, Cancel asks before throwing away more than 15 s, and Copy and Get link say when something failed.

Dolly 0.4.16

  • New Motion option "From click to click": the cursor glides from click to click, aimless movement is left out, and the camera follows the clean path. The cursor also hides while you type and comes back when you move the mouse.
  • Export › More › Codec: HEVC, up to a third smaller at the same sharpness. The welcome window closes once a recording starts.
  • iPhone and iPad recording over a cable is now "Coming soon" until it is tested on real devices. Dolly's own test runs no longer open windows on your screen. Plus fixes.

Dolly 0.4.15

  • Dolly keeps its permissions across updates: it now has its own signing certificate. After this one update, allow Dolly once more, then never again.
  • Click sounds play on every play, new typing sounds, and a clear note that opens the right Settings pane when typing wasn't captured. Zooms toward an edge or corner ease without a step, and the preview plays at export loudness.
  • Accounts: sign in with an email code in Settings › Account. Dolly Agent can use every feature, and a smaller download (about 94 MB) with a clearer install window. Plus fixes.

  • Export an interactive demo: a clickable step-by-step guide made from your recording, as a folder or a demo link. Video replies on your links show up in Dolly.
  • Use this look: open a look from the gallery and add it to your presets, captions included, or share your own. Zooming in the preview no longer shakes.
  • Buying Pro opens checkout in your browser with Apple Pay or Google Pay, and one click activates Pro. Plus Copy For and AI fixes.

  • Exports play at streaming loudness, and tall videos never export above the detail your recording holds.

  • Stop and the share link is on your clipboard: one shortcut records, the video uploads behind it. Insights and link settings now live in Dolly Home.

  • Fewer clicks: recording bar keys, a remembered area and look, ⌘E to export, and Home search by what was said.

  • Auto zoom stays calm while you type long text: a gentler zoom that only moves when your text is about to leave the frame.
  • Exports about 20% faster, with an estimate of how long it takes.
  • Speeds from 0.5× to 24× in one click. Q and W trim a clip to the playhead, and a ↺ pin brings trimmed footage back.
  • Captions you can drag anywhere, with a box, font and word animation of your choice.

Dolly 0.4.1

  • Sharper recordings: about four times more detail is kept, so text stays crisp when Dolly zooms in.
  • Free now exports up to 1440p (was 1080p), with no time limit. Auto edit is free too.
  • Quick share: press Stop and the video is on your clipboard, ready to paste into Slack, Mail or Notion. No link, no upload.
  • Automatic zooms that move like a camera operator: clicks and typing are grouped, each moment gets its own zoom level, and the camera glides instead of flashing in and out.
  • Your own click sounds and your own music. Double and accidental triple clicks are merged into one.
  • 25 cursor sets, including macOS colours, Classic PC, Sketch, Pixel, Candy and a Dolly mascot.
  • ⌘K command menu, right-click menus, playback speed, preview zoom, and hover the timeline to preview.
  • The editor no longer works in the background while you record, so your Mac stays smooth.

Dolly 0.4.0

  • Editing like Screen Studio: zooms live on the timeline, click one to open the Zoom editor. Choose Classic or the new glass Droplet, Auto or Manual position with a big picker, and Start animation early.
  • Drag the frame on the preview to re-center a zoom, drag a corner to zoom deeper, double-click for Auto.
  • Right-click menus on clips, zooms, masks, text, the timeline and the preview. Clip editor with speed chips, cut pins, typing chips and snapping.
  • Hover the timeline to see that moment instantly.

Dolly 0.3.1

  • Stop, pause, restart and cancel in the recording pill work reliably, and ⇧⌘2 always stops.
  • Recordings can't run on forever any more, and Dolly stops safely when your disk is nearly full.
  • Recordings are about half the size, and your microphone and camera are attached to them.
  • Interrupted projects open again.
  • Screen Recording permission now stays after updates (grant it once more after installing 0.3.1).

Dolly 0.1 for Mac

  • First public build for Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 13 or later).
  • Record a display, a window or an area at 60 fps, with microphone and system audio. Countdown, pause and restart, and a ⇧⌘2 shortcut.
  • Your cursor is recorded separately and redrawn: eleven styles, smoothing, click effects and click sounds.
  • Automatic zoom on clicks, manual zooms and a loupe, on springs, with optional motion blur.
  • Timeline: split, trim, reorder, several takes, speed from 0.25× to 4×, and one-click silence and typing clean-up.
  • Backgrounds, padding, rounded corners, shadow and inset. Presets. Music with ducking, and voice clean-up.
  • Export to MP4 up to 4K at 60 fps in 16:9, 4:3, 1:1 or 9:16, to a file or your clipboard.
