Dolly is a screen recorder that does the camera work for you: it zooms on your clicks, redraws your cursor, frames your recording, and lets you trim, caption and export in every shape. It is not a general video editor; if your video is mostly stock footage, animation or a multi-camera shoot, use a tool built for that and bring your Dolly recordings in as clips.
Every use case on this page works on the free plan, which records with no time limit and exports up to 1440p, ending with a short Made with Dolly card. Lifetime is €5, once.

Is Dolly a video editor?
No. Dolly is a screen recorder with a light timeline: zooms, cursor, backgrounds, cuts, captions, music and export. For stock footage, animation or multicam, use a full editor and bring Dolly recordings in as clips.
Do all use cases work on the free plan?
Yes. Free records with no time limit and exports MP4 up to 1440p, ending with a 2-second Made with Dolly card. Lifetime (€5 once) removes the card and adds 4K and GIF; Pro (€19 once) adds Connect your AI.
Does Dolly work on Windows or Intel Macs?
Not today. Dolly runs on Macs with Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later.
Can an AI make these videos for me?
With Dolly Pro, Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor can record, edit and export videos in Dolly over MCP, on your Mac. ChatGPT isn't supported yet.
