Security, with sources
Videos and links
Dolly links and workspaces run on Cloudflare: the files in R2, everything else in D1. Both are encrypted at rest. We haven't pinned them to a region.
Your account
Your Dolly account lives in a Supabase project in Frankfurt, Germany (eu-central-1).
Only what you share
Get link uploads a 1080p web copy of that one video, its poster and its captions. Your projects and raw recordings stay on your Mac.
Not public by default
Links are random, aren't listed anywhere and ask search engines not to index them. Workspace-only videos need a signed-in member.
No visitor tracking
No cookies for insights. A view is counted by a salted hash; IP addresses are never stored.
Keys you can take back
Link passwords and AI keys are stored only as hashes. Revoke a key and every AI using it loses access at once.
Web AI
Your Mac holds one outbound connection to link.getdolly.app; nothing on it listens to the network. Requests and Dolly's answers pass through that connection, and you allow every new app.

Questions

What is Dolly Cloud?

Everything Dolly hosts for you: Dolly links, Workspace, AI keys and Web AI. It's included in Pro and in Team. Recording, editing and export happen on your Mac and are free.

Do I need Dolly Cloud to record?

No. Dolly Free records as long as you like, has the full editor and exports up to 1080p with a small Made with Dolly logo. Quick Share puts the video file itself on your clipboard, with nothing uploaded.

Why is it part of Pro?

Recording on your own Mac costs us almost nothing. Hosting your videos, comments, workspaces and the connection for Web AI does. Pro pays for it, so Free can stay free with no time limit.

I made links on Free. Do they still work?

Yes. Links you made on Free keep working, with their comments and views. Making new links is part of Dolly Cloud.

Can people without Pro watch my videos?

Yes. Anyone can watch a Dolly link, no account needed. People you invite to a workspace can watch and comment there on any plan, Free included.

Is Dolly Cloud in Lifetime?

No. Lifetime keeps everything on your Mac for good: no logo, 4K, GIF and Connect your AI on your Mac. Dolly Cloud is part of Pro and Team, because hosting has a monthly cost.

Does Dolly Cloud add AI costs?

No. AI keys and Web AI let the AI you already use, like Claude or ChatGPT, work with your videos. Dolly never calls an AI itself.

Where is my data?

Videos and links on Cloudflare R2 and D1, your account in Frankfurt. The details, with sources, are on Security.
