Draw while you record

Circle it, point at it, then let it fade.

Start drawing

While recording, press ⇧⌘D or click the pen in the recording pill. A small toolbar appears: pen, highlighter, arrow, box and eraser, and five colours (Dolly blue first). Hold ⇧ for a straight line or a square box.

Lines that fade

Choose whether lines fade after 3, 5 or 10 seconds, or stay until you stop drawing. ⌘Z undoes a line, and Erase all clears the screen. Press Esc or ⇧⌘D again when you're done; your clicks then go straight through to your apps again.

Not burned in

Your drawings are saved as drawings, not pixels. Clicks you make while drawing don't trigger zooms or click sounds. In the editor, each drawing is a block on the timeline: click it on the preview or the timeline to move it, change how long it stays, recolour it, hide it or delete it with ⌫. Zooms, cuts and speed changes apply to it just like to your cursor.
