Install Dolly

Download, open, and you're ready in a minute.

Download

Dolly runs on Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 13 Ventura or later. Download Dolly from the download page, open the DMG, and drag Dolly to your Applications folder. An Intel build and a Windows version are on the roadmap.

The first time you open it

Dolly isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm once.

macOS 15 or later: double-click Dolly and click Done. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security and click Open Anyway next to “Dolly” was blocked. Confirm with Touch ID or your password, then click Open Anyway.

macOS 13 or 14: right-click (or Control-click) Dolly in Applications, choose Open, then Open again.

First launch

Dolly lives in your menu bar, with your recent projects one click away. Click the Dolly icon, or press ⇧⌘2, to open the recording bar.

Updates

Every update is free, forever. For now, download the newest version from the download page; the changelog lists what changed.
